You have a very valid point there. It was definitely ignorant to say the least. Perhaps it sounded that way in the overall context of the conversation because it was said like Black people shouldn’t be complaining because they had time to “catch up” and therefore, must have been inadequate or not worked hard enough to get where they wanted to be. But in this case, I would agree, that while many of the comments in my class were ignorant, prejudiced, etc, supremacist might lie more within the interpretation.
